About Terri Nakamura

My name is Terri Nakamura and I’m a communications designer and an early adopter and aficionado of social media. I’ve been on Instagram since about 2011. For me, it began as a fun thing to dabble in, but I’ve learned a lot and hope to share my experiences with anyone who is interested in the mechanics of the platform. Instagram has grown to be in my top two social media spaces (with Twitter being my first love) and I would love to help you on your own journey.

Five years ago I was selected by Verizon as a brand ambassador, and later as a brand partner. In exchange for mentioning products or services, I have been compensated in the form of payment, services or devices. All opinions are my own and I will offer only my own genuine opinions, whether positive or negative.

I’ve written product reviews and posts about products including the Amazon Kindle, the UE Boom, Plantronics headphones. Also, the Canary Home Security Camera and other home accessories, as well as smartphones, watches, and devices made by Samsung, Motorola, LG, Nokia, Google, and others. I’ve also written about products from CTA, the Consumer Technology Association, sponsor of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

I am active on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, GooglePlus, and my writing can be found at Confessions of a Graphic Designer, and Social Media, Stories & Tech. I have also contributed to The Medium, and blogs in the UK, Italy, Canada, and others in the U.S.

In 2019 and 2019 I was invited by the CES to attend as a Key Online Influencer. I was not compensated for the exposure, but I’m sure glad I was there!

#CES2019, the Consumer Electronics Show, is a sensory overload in the best sense. 👁️👁️ It's amazing that despite the raison d'etre — focus on coming trends in consumer technology products — many meaningful conversations take place. 🗣️ . . One might not expect that to happen when 180,000 people from all around the world are thrown together in one spot! 👩‍💼👨‍💼👩‍⚕️👩‍🏫🙋🧓🙇👩🧔👨‍🦰🧕 . . I had lunch with an industry analyst who writes for Forbes; 💻 I met several CEOs of startups; a marketing director for TMobile 📱; a photo journalist 📸 and exchanged cards and stories with many others while we waited in lines, were having meals, and sitting together. Also, it was great to see Erica Corley, again! 🎲 . . Today I checked out the LG screen that rolls up to disappear from sight, 📺 and stopped to see what was new in 3D printing. 🖨️ Drones of all types were on display, including a drone for manned flight. Something I saw that was really quite impressive was a Bell helicopter "taxi," for 5-6 passengers, that reminded me of a super gigantic drone. 🚁 This is a fraction of a fraction of what's on exhibit. It's impossible to see everything. . . Some of you have shown interest in checking out CES one day. I hope you do. It requires an industry connection, and you can read about details on their website. 👨‍💻 Take a look and see if it could work for you! I hope it will! And if we're lucky, maybe we can meet there next year! ✈️ . .
